Colts' Offense vs Seahawks' Defense

The Colts will look to improve their red zone offense this week. The Colts had two drives totaling 36 plays which resulted in only 6 points. It was not a case of the Patriots defense playing extremely well in those situations. It was a case of the offense sputtering when it counted the most.  Give the Patriots some credit, though. Manning was not allowed to throw in rhythm all day, resulting in a three interception second half.

The red flag waving the highest must certainly be the lack of a potent running game the last two weeks. While Edgerrin James' rushing yards reflect, in some part, the need for the Colts to call more passing plays when playing from behind, it is also true that James ability to break the long run has been effectively held in check.  If the Colts can reestablish some aggressive run blocking, it will go a long way to helping offensive coordinator Tom Moore to unleash the full scoring potential of this team.

The Seahawks are giving up over 120 rushing yards per game and rank 29th in the league in total defense. Their cornerback have been exposed as a step slow against fast receivers and they have failed to generate many turnovers. If the Colts can regain their composure in the red zone, the Seattle defense should not be able to stop them consistently.
