Colts' Defense vs Dolphins' Offense

The team has lacked a credible pass rush all season long. Brett Favre made them pay dearly. Many of the defense's liabilities can be masked if two areas improve: rushing the passer and stopping the run. The Colts have done neither consistently and as a result they have put pressure on the offense to score as much and as often as they can just to stay in the game.

Miami has a resurgent running game with Lamar Smith and a more than competent QB in Jay Fielder. They have a balanced and no frills attack. In a way they are the mirror image of the Colts. Miami's defense is all pro quality and as long as their offense doesn't turn the ball over, they have a legitimate chance to win each and every game.

The Colt defense has played with more intensity at home, but they have yet to prove themselves week in and week out.  They cannot play well on most downs. Every down is critical. They must play with greater aggression and discipline if they are to shut down the Dolphins.
