Colts' Offense vs Jets' Defense

to basics: Part Two. Turnovers have plagued the Colts almost from the
opening kickoff this season. The Colts have turned the ball over at
least once in every game this season but one. It's a simple equation,
really. Give the other team more chances to score and, more times than
not, you lose. The Colts are currently - 9 in giveaways/takeaways.
That's 9 extra chances to score, 9 more times to pressure an already
weak defense. Eliminate
the turnovers and the Colts force the opposing defense to gamble more.
And with this offense, no defense can gamble without paying a heavy
price.
The
Jets are a formidable defense and have historically given Tom Moore's
offensive strategy fits. The key to the Colts' success will be the
continued dominance of Edgerrin James. If James is able to to pound
away and gain ground in larger chunks as the game wears on, the Jets
will find it difficult to contain the potent passing attack as well.
If they contain James, they will be able to apply pressure on Manning
more often. I have confidence in Peyton Manning's ability to rally the
offense and bounce back from the team's recent struggles, especially
with the playoffs on the line.
