Fourth and Short

Very short. Welcome to the Horseshoe, the home for Colts haiku. Football is a game of simple grace and power, grit and glory unleashed in small explosions. It's poetry in motion. Fast forward, that is. The 'Shoe doesn't need pages of stat-crunching analysis to find the essence of the game. 

17 weeks. 17 syllables. That's all we need.  Beat that, ESPN.

Seven little days.
What a difference a week makes.
The chumps look like champs!

No first half failures.
Colts grab lead, never look back.
Now THAT'S more like it!

Was Ben Franklin right?
Are turkeys the better birds?
Eagles lay big eggs.

Positive yardage,
Keep it simple, north and south.

Blitz happy Philly
puts Peyton on the hot seat.
Manning makes them pay.
