Football is a game of simple grace and power, grit and glory unleashed in small explosions. It's poetry in motion. Fast forward, that is. The 'Shoe doesn't need pages of stat-crunching analysis to find the essence of the game. 17 weeks. 17 syllables. That's all we need.  Beat that, ESPN.

Despite lack of thumbs,
Ponies like shovels. Who knew?
They sure dig big holes.

Three key injuries
to right side goalline package.
Colt coach says run right?

No comeback for blue.
Patriot curse still holds true.
Only by a yard.

Deep kick with eight ticks?
Good coaches can make bad calls.
Tony, that was one.

Kickoff excitement
A little too exciting!
Two kicks cost Colts game.

They gave it their all.
Pats made one more play than Colts.
They deserve to win.

Master of his fate,
Tennessee's favorite son
returns for the win?

Twelve games come and gone,
and every one still matters.
What more could Colts want?
