Five Step Drop...

Then seven, then five more. Welcome to the Horseshoe, the home for Colts haiku

Football is a game of simple grace and power, grit and glory unleashed in small explosions. It's poetry in motion. Fast forward, that is. The 'Shoe doesn't need pages of stat-crunching analysis to find the essence of the game. 17 weeks. 17 syllables. That's all we need.  Beat that, ESPN.

Colts Haiku: Colts vs. Broncos  Dec. 21

Vick may yet be great.
Greatness is earned, not given.
False coronation.

From whistle to gun,
Colts overwhelm, dominate.
Best is yet to come.

Eleven footballs.
Six passes for the Falcons.
Five touchdowns for Colts.

Stutter, now jump back,
Wait for the block, wait for it,
Explode through the hole!

Manning to Marvin.
They make it look so easy.
Arm, feet, two sure hands.

In pocket or out,
Vick forced to make quick choices.
Ponies hunt him down.

They've got their groove on.
Bouncy kick cov'rage is cool,
if they make tackles.

Sunday night showdown.
Broncos fight for wild card game.
Rematch in two weeks?
