Five Step Drop...

Then seven, then five more. Welcome to the Horseshoe, the home for Colts haiku

Football is a game of simple grace and power, grit and glory unleashed in small explosions. It's poetry in motion. Fast forward, that is. The 'Shoe doesn't need pages of stat-crunching analysis to find the essence of the game. 17 weeks. 17 syllables. That's all we need.  Beat that, ESPN.

Colts Haiku: Colts vs. Chiefs  Jan. 11

Clinging hopefully,
is it finally their year?
Loud and proud we cheer.

Lightning strikes five times.
Touchdowns pour down from the sky.
When it rains, it pours!

Now they're at full stride,
Colts can cross any hurdle.
One game at a time.

Pigskin prodigy,
Peyton pries pesky playoff
primate from his back.

Something had to give.
By sheer force of will alone,
Colts refuse to lose.

Stunned Broncos stare as
Marvin scampers for the score.
Flag football flashback?

Long suffering and
much maligned, Colt fans bring the
dome down on Denver.

Galvanizing game
for the city and the team.
The sky's the limit.

Defense must rise up.
Arrowhead battle awaits.
Priest preys on the weak.
