Colts Defense vs. Browns Offense

The Colts defense has played with intensity and purpose in securing the team's last two victories. The defensive line continues to apply consistent pressure to the quarterback. With his three sacks against Washington, Chad Bratzke is now tied for second in the AFC. Inspired is, perhaps, the best word to describe the play of Cornelius Bennett. He has been a force to be reckoned with both on and off the field. When a play has to be made, you can be sure he will be near the center of the action.

The Colts are not without their weaknesses defensively, however. Washington RB Stephen Davis ran for 92 yards in the first half alone last week before being sidelined with an ankle injury. Even without Davis, the Redskins were able to mount a credible runnning attack in the second half.

Enter the Browns. Held to a paltry 72 yards on the ground by Jacksonville last week, Cleveland has yet to establish a successful and consistent offensive attack in any game. They rank last in the AFC in total offense, averaging less than 230 yard per game. If the Colts can address their inconsistency in defending the run, they will be able to unleash their potent pass rushers. It could be a long afternoon for backup QB, Ty Detmer!
